What to Pack For Turks and Caicos, Including Cutout Swimsuits and Sequin Dresses

I'm such a stickler when it comes to travel; my flights have to offer a mix of convenience and comfort to start off my trip on a high note. I was so pleased with my experience on JetBlue while flying to Turks and Caicos. From the spacious legroom to the free, delectable snacks (PopChips for me) to a vast selection of movies and TV shows (I watched "Insecure," of course), my flight was like a vacation all on its own.

For my JetBlue flight, I wanted to look put together and comfortable, and this soft lounge dress from Skims fit the bill. It's constructed of ribbed stretch modal fabric that feels so soft and luxurious against the skin — perfect for an in-flight nap.

Situated on the breathtaking and secluded Long Bay Beach, The Shore Club is a must-stay when visiting Turks and Caicos, whether you opt for a lavish two-bedroom suite or a private luxury villa.

The villas all boast a whirlpool, sauna, and private courtyard with easy access to the beach, while the suites offer a private, fully furnished terrace and spectacular views of the ocean or pool. In my two-bedroom suite, I especially loved the standalone deep soaking tub, but if you prefer showers, the rainfall showerhead made for a spa-worthy experience.

LemLem Lena Triangle Bikini Top ($81, originally $135) and LemLem String Bikini Bottoms ($57, originally $95)

To lounge by the pool or at the private beach of The Shore Club, pack a fun, bright bikini. This style, from Black-owned brand LemLem, incorporates a diamond-jacquard trim inspired by Ethiopian weaving.

The Shore Club's extensive list of amenities includes four outdoor pools; complementary buffet breakfast; the serene, full-service spa; water sports; and more. As a workout enthusiast, I was all about the fitness center, tennis court, and lap pools. My favorite amenity was the stunning hospitality suite, which we visited after checking out before it was time to fly out and depart the island.

Fe Noel Spice Gradient Rooted Slouched Pant ($298, originally $628)

From the spa to the daily breakfast, there's so much to enjoy on the Shore Club grounds. Indulge in these gorgeous Fe Noel slouch pants that feel both effortless and polished. The lightweight linen is perfect for high temps, and the hand-dyed ombré color is an instant head turner.

It's not a Turks and Caicos trip without a boat ride. We enjoyed a half-day cruise with Caicos Dream Tours to experience the beauty of the island's crystal-blue water, white-sand beaches, and picturesque sunsets firsthand. Booked through Tripadvisor, the half-day tour included snorkeling, lizard-spotting, and lots of time spent lounging in the sun.

Beach Sun Straw Hat ($24, originally $26)

For a boat tour and excursion in Turks and Caicos, don't forget to pack a chic sun hat that will elevate your look while acting as your own personal shade. This version is packable while still maintaining its shape and has a six-inch brim to shield your skin from the sun (but still be sure to apply sunscreen).

Chyrii Cutout Lace Up Monokini ($31)

To lounge on the Caicos Dream Tours boat or swim in the ocean at one of the boat trip's stops, this cutout swimsuit will certainly come in handy. Not only is the lace-up bodice trendy and stylish, the nylon fabric is durable, comfy, and soft.

Turks and Caicos has a thriving culinary scene, and one of my favorite restaurants to visit on the island is the Vita Restaurant at Rockhouse Resort, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The eatery has the most breathtaking views of Grace Bay Beach and a vast array of delicious food, from oysters to lemon spaghetti with lobster.

For a fancy dinner at Vita Restaurant at Rockhouse Resort, pile on the glamorous accessories. These earrings are the ultimate conversation piece, whether you pair them with an LBD for a pop of color, or go for the monochrome look in head-to-toe pink.
